A clean exchange from the center to the quarterback is more important than it ever has been. Many teams are running spread offenses and in a spread offense, timing is absolutely critical. A bad snap or a mishandled ball takes a play just seconds off of its timing, but that's all it takes for the play to be result in a loss of yards.
