Quarterbacks are expected to make the decision of where they want to pass the ball within 5 to 7 seconds after the snap. Coaches should regularly put their QB’s through drills that train them to make decisions fast. To be on the safe side you should train your quarterback to either be on the move or have made a throw within 5 seconds. This way any time after 5 seconds in a game seems like an eternity and they can pick the defense apart.
