One of the hardest things for young, talented quarterbacks to learn is to be patient enough to let plays develop. When the pocket breaks down panic sets in and there is a natural tendency to abandon the play that was drawn up. Great quarterbacks know how to let plays develop without taking lots of sacks or fumbling when the pressure arrives. It takes lots and lots of practice but can be done.
