Out-Route Pass

When throwing an out-route pass (where the receiver makes his cut going away from the quarterback) the ball should be thrown at the receivers ear hole. This way the ball will get to the receiver at the preferred height for him to catch it securely and make a move once he has the ball. If the ball is thrown higher or lower the likelihood of an interception or an incompletion becomes higher.
