Position Specific Training for Football: Receivers and Running Backs

Todd Norman's workout for receivers and running backs, done at least six weeks before training camp, will maximize their chances for on-field success. He begins with eight power training drills utilizing plyometrics and the medicine ball for hand speed and finger strength, core development, and vertical explosion. Next is a series of 17 quick feet agility drills specific to receivers and backs that require rapid cuts and directional changes. Small hurdles, resistance bands, and incorporation of catching the football within the drills are used to physically and mentally develop precision and focus. Norman then demonstrates 20 resisted and assisted position specific training drills for receivers and 24 running back specific drills. Each of the movements duplicates actual patterns and routes used in the game. Norman's next focus is on his unique Complex Conditioning series. This is a combination of drills spread out to make four quarters of intense conditioning. Each quarter has drill variety and position specific demands. Norman concludes with program design and implementation. This intense, six-week package will prepare any receiver or running back for a season of playing at their peak condition!
