DVD
with Brian George,
Indiana University Co-Defensive Coordinator / DL Coach
Coach George brings valuable Big 10 and MAC coaching experience to this defensive presentation.
In 2005, Coach George mentored all-league defensive end Victor Adeyanju, who was a fourth round
selection of the St. Louis Rams in the 2006 NFL Draft. In 2004, George and oversaw a Miami of Ohio
defense that ranked among the top three in the Mid-American Conference in both rushing and scoring
defense. His ability and knowledge of defending the spread is impressive. In this DVD he shares his
plan for developing successful defensive line play and the steps to accomplish that plan. George's
presentation is based on the 4-3 defense, playing both a 9 technique and a 5 technique. The Indiana
line philosophy focuses on an attacking front getting the heels of the offensive lineman a yard into
the backfield. George stresses seven keys to front four dominance. Players are taught the 19 principles
for position skills. This list is concrete, detailed and measurable for the benefit of coaches and players.
Each skill is discussed and fortified with game footage, drills or examples. Stance is extremely important
for tackles and ends, as well as leading with the hands and not the helmet. Also discussed in technique
identification for front alignment and attacking blocks on the line. Seven drills are displayed to
conclude George's demonstration. This information-filled DVD will help improve players' skills and
techniques, which will enhance your defensive line play.
