Why do we have to write the same article every single season? The guy can recruit and has brought in top 10 rated classes for his entire time at the school. The only team he really won with were recruits that came from Tyrone Willingham and here he is again struggling along in a season where his team could easily be under .500. Let Charlie go.

I read that he has a GIANT buyout clause around 18 million dollars and that is a crazy amount of money when you consider that then they have to go out and buy the next best thing they can and bring them to South Bend so that we can go through this next year. Seriously, they are thinking of Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer and others so this isn’t going to be cheap.

We are part of a new generation that doesn’t see Notre Dame as the Yankees of college football. We see Notre Dame as what they are and that is a middle of the road team that has no conference that hasn’t been a threat to the national title for years and years. Maybe 8-4 is the type of program that Notre Dame has become and we should just accept that. Maybe Weis should just stay and coach this team because nobody will do better. They don’t play the impossible schedule anymore and now they are losing to teams like NAVY.

But if it is me and my university I get rid of the guy because college football needs Notre Dame to be good again because we need that program to hate. We want to cheer against them like Duke when it comes to the NCAA tournament. We love to root against the Yankees, the Blue Devils, the Cowboys and Notre Dame is that team in college football. However, it is no fun to cheer against a team that loses as often as it wins.
