Warner a hall of famer…

This is one that is a tough tough call for a lot of people but Kurt Warner is a great great quarterback and he’s proven it once again to all of us. We look back and wonder why the hapless Rams benched him years ago in favor of Bulger. Bulger is a good Qb but he hasn’t won anything. We all have to admit that we may have given up on Warner too quickly.

When I look at the guys stats I compare him to a baseball player who had some great seasons and some not great seasons. He’s a guy that shows nothing statistically for years and that hurts him. On the other hand he’s a 2 time MVP winner and a super bowl winning quarterback. This is his 3rd trip to the big game and that’s saying something. In a league where Lynn Swann made the Hall of Fame simply because of his super bowl prowess then Warner certainly deserves a shot.

Where I sit Kurt Warner is a great QB who got started late. Too late. He’s not a hall of fame Qb. He’s a player who had some great seasons and will always be remembered as the guy who went from the grocery store to the super bowl and I’m happy for him. I think he’s a good example to a lot of people of what you can accomplish by not giving up. I think he’s a hall of fame guy, just not quite a hall of fame footballer.
