Sam Bradford has to be 2nd guessing now

I was amongst thousands of fans who questioned Sam Bradford’s thinking when he decided to go back to school when he could’ve gone to the NFL and been the top pick in the draft. I was amongst thousands who thought that the risk wasn’t worth the reward and that the negatives were far more than the positives.

Me and a thousand others were right: Sam Bradford is going to have shoulder surgery and end his season.

Early in the year when Byu knocked Bradford out you could immediately question the choice. I know that Oklahoma had national title hopes and he was the returning Heisman winner but that still doesn’t make sense. If you are a computer genius going to college and IBM or Cisco calls you and offers you 40 million dollars GUARANTEED to leave school and come work for them then you would go. It wouldn’t matter what the situation was in that case because you would go and say “I’ll go back later and get my degree if I want to”. Why would you say no when that is going to be your chosen field anyway and the offer isn’t guaranteed to be there in a year? We’d all take it.

Sam didn’t take it and suffered a major injury to him most valuable asset and that’s his arm. I feel terrible for the kid because it didn’t turn out like he wanted. His team has lost a number of games and he will miss the rest of the year. He’ll still be a first round pick if the surgery goes ok and he’ll still probably still sign a multi million dollar contract but this choice undoubtedly cost him in multiple ways.

Matt Stafford got 41 million guaranteed dollars to lose with the Detroit Lions. Sam Bradford has an insurance policy in case this happened but it isn’t for 40 million.
