I love this time of year.  Baseball winds down and the playoffs begin.  As September turns, the weather gets  a little cooler and the smell of youth football fills my nose.  I love the smell of the grass on an early saturday and as I’ve gotten older it has changed from reminding me of my past to looking forward to college football season.  Is there anything better?

I don’t think so.  I don’t think anything tops waking up early saturday morning and seeing college football games going.  It seems it is the shortest season but the one that we all look forward to the most and it is finally here.  We only have to suffer through one more week until the games kick off and our hopes and dreams for our schools are either crushed or fulfilled.  It doesn’t get better.

here are my games that I’m watching this weekend:

Illinois vs Missouri-  This is the game I’ve waited forever for.  Missouri graduated a lot of players and Illinois has a lot of players back.  If ever they could beat Missouri it is this season.  Juice for Heisman.

BYU vs Oklahoma-  I always hope BYU loses and that hope is ripe to be fulfilled this weekend.  BYU should get slaughtered but if there was ever a time to creep up and beat someone early it is this first game.
